Project Description
- Bridge reconstruction over W. Milton Ave
- Bridge rehabilitation over Irving Street
- Design/Build entire Westbound High Level Platform foundations and platforms
- Drove 128 steel H-piles 40' long, using spliced sections due to overhead catenary high voltage wiring
- Built concrete pile caps and grade beams
- Built new structural steel and masonry platform shelters
- New metal roofing and glass block shelter walls
- Constructed new reinforced concrete stairways to new high level platforms
- All work performed on active Northeast corridor - the busiest rail line in North America
- All personnel extensively safety trained
- Demolition of the existing station buildings/canopies and cross tunnel
- Construction of a new pedestrian cross tunnel
- Construction of a new three-story steel framed brick and cast stone masonry station building
- Reconstruction of the Eastbound high level platform
- Two elevators and complete handicap accessibility
- All electrical work at Station Building, platform, canopies, shelters, site lighting and communication work
- All new station mechanical and plumbing systems
- Site work including curbing, walkways, plaza, and asphalt paving
- Signage installation for the entire site
- Lead paint abatement and repainting of four railroad bridges
- Project completed on schedule
